I have stated on July 31st that I will be taking a break in daily updating of my blog as I needed to get out of town to attend a funeral but I still managed to update my blog daily up till Aug 1, and then fatigue got the better of me and I finally missed Aug 2nd update.
One day lapse in more than a month. I give myself a pat on the back for sticking to my mid-year resolution to blog daily since June 2012. :)

A review on 'The Necklace' - a good read
The Necklace is a story of 13 women in Ventura, USA, who got together to buy a diamond necklace and they each get to wear the diamond necklace for about four weeks a year.
What started out as a social experiment to test if 13 women can truly 'share' in a materialistic sense evolved into something much bigger as they used their 'influence' to raise money and creating awareness for charitable causes in their town, hence the necklace turned into a totally different 'symbol' for the people who knows about this joint-ownernership.
Lesson to be learned: We cannot take away materialism in today's world but we can redefine it in our own way, making a difference to the world while doing so.
Good read!!!

Only Time - a reflection on life
The video of the ever beautiful Enya singing "Only Time" - still so soothing to the soul after all these years.
Hurt - takes time to heal.
Crop - takes time to yield.
Painful memories - takes time to forget.
Skill - takes time to be acquired.
Elation - takes time to sink in.
Habit - takes time to form.
Will be humans make it in the end?
Only time will tell.
p/s - just attended my husband's godpapa's funeral today - he is also my father-in-laws' eldest and only brother so it was a close relationship. Makes you think and reflect on the frail human life.
